History

DIEMconsulting Ltd was founded in 2002, following the attacks of 9/11. The original purpose was to combine military Operational Analysis (OA) and commercial business modelling techniques to help Corporate Risk & Security managers understand the financial impact of war & political instability on major projects & internal investments.

However, over time our methodology has helped a much wider range of government, corporate & asset management clients to identify, agree & quantify critical risks and also opportunities (such as the impact of new technology or legislation) and hence prioritise how to invest their time & money to address these changes for maximum benefit.

Guiding principles

We believe that, in order to take effective action to protect against (or exploit) threats to their operations, clients need to do three things:

  • Capture the views of their stakeholders & gain their buy-in
  • Prioritise where & how to spend their finite time & resources to get the greatest benefit
  • Have a structured approach so that subsequent decisions & actions can be traced to the original stakeholder inputs (whenever these actions have to be justified)

Our aim is to help clients deliver these elements during critical stages of decision making, using a suitable variety of techniques.
